Auburn's Sullivan Out For Season

Jan 18, 2011 4:00 PM

Auburn guard Frankie Mitchell will miss the rest of the season because of a left knee injury.

Averaging 8.2 points and 3.0 assists in 24.7 minutes per game, the sophomore played in Auburn's six games prior to SEC play and hasn't played since.

"Frankie Sullivan means so much to our team, on and off the court," said head coach Tony Barbee. "He is a team leader.
Frankie's health is our number one concern with him."

Auburn will apply for a medical hardship waiver for him.

Auburn Manages Just Six First-Half Points

Jan 9, 2011 10:21 AM

Auburn has struggled this season, but they hit a new low on Saturday against LSU.

The Tigers managed just two field goals in the first half and trailed 32-6 at the half.

They rallied in the second half, but still lost 62-55.

Auburn committed eight first-half turnovers, missed 22 of 24 shots before halftime and endured a scoreless stretch of more than 10 minutes.

A three-pointer from Kenny Gabriel late in the first half ensured Auburn wouldn't wind up in the record books.

Savannah State set the modern record for fewest points in a half when it got outscored by Kansas State 48-4 in the second half of an 82-25 loss on Jan. 7, 2008.
